Biscontini Yacht Design – Roberto Biscontini

The new Advanced 62′ combines several aero-hydrodynamic and naval architecture features that make her a truly innovative sailing yacht. She is fast, responsive, entertaining yet easy to sail, safe, comfortable, with plenty of space and volume, both inside and out. The design has been developed using the latest yacht design technologies and the most advanced tools available in the field, such as parametric CAD and a naval architecture software suite developed over 25 years of America’s Cup design, including a very powerful V.P.P. program used in five America’s Cup campaigns. This allowed a large number of potential design candidates to be tested, resulting in the final design being developed and optimized to a level never before achieved for the waterlines of a commercial vessel.

Nauta Design - Massimo Gino and Mario Pedol

The A62 is a true “Gran Turismo” that combines state-of-the-art water and aerodynamics with design and attractiveness. The hull, appendages and sail plan were designed by Roberto Biscontini. One look at this yacht is enough to make you want to go sailing. Agile and clean, simple and efficient, the Advanced A62 offers excellent sailing efficiency and performance combined with easy handling. The sleek, modern exterior design, functional deck layout and spacious cockpit allow for efficient maneuvering while racing and relaxed outdoor living while cruising.
Nauta Yacht Design has carefully planned the spaces below deck to include two functional guest cabins aft (with wide double or twin berths in the bow), a very bright open saloon and an impressive owner’s cabin in the bow. All this was of course made possible by the powerful forward sections and the long waterline designed by shipbuilder Roberto Biscontini.
