Description

The 1600 Passagemaker reflects our ambition to build the ideal cruiser in every respect: She is the ultimate offshore catamaran. The Seawind 1600 Passagemaker features an exclusive interior with elegant details expected of a thoroughbred sailing yacht.
High-profile, deep-retractable rudders and centerboards offer performance and practicality – this catamaran sailboat turns easily and is an agile performer, yet has a minimum draft of just 54 cm with foils up.
Designed by world-renowned naval architects Reichel Pugh, this 52-foot luxury catamaran offers the perfect balance between cruising comfort and sailing performance.
At 52 feet in length, our Seawind 1600 Passagemaker is the flagship of our range and is intended to be the “ultimate luxury offshore cruiser”. And after thousands of hours of design and thousands more in the early build and testing phase, that work has been rewarded in a competition we cherish.
With simple sail systems, twin protected rudders and a large, open cockpit, this luxury bluewater cruising catamaran sets the standard for offshore sailing.
At 52 feet in length, this high-performance catamaran designed by Reichel Pugh offers sailors a true sailing experience without sacrificing safety or comfort. The Seawind 1600 Passagemaker has proven to be a world-class catamaran that can be sailed anywhere and by anyone.
Reichel Pugh’s design expertise and Seawind’s 35 years of experience in handling catamarans have resulted in a yacht that is ideal for extended cruising or living aboard.
The delightful light oak interior exudes Italian style. The chic gray of the oak contrasts well with the modern walnut wood floors. Soft LED lighting and a high-quality sound system emphasize the carefully planned atmosphere on board.
Designed for extended ocean crossings, the Seawind 1600 Passagemaker offers all the practical features you would expect from a new Seawind catamaran, but on a long and fast performance hull.

PERFORMANCE WITHOUT COMPROMISE

Comfort and performance are an endlessly debated compromise. The Seawind 1600 Passagemaker achieves this balance through the use of advanced construction technologies and continuous weight-saving efforts. Strategically placed carbon fiber reinforcements throughout the structure, Kevlar reinforcements below the waterline and a revolutionary centerboard integration make the Seawind 1600 Passagemaker not only an extremely stiff and fast catamaran, but also give it the beachability that so many Seawind catamarans are known for.

Thanks to the use of Kevlar-reinforced hulls with retractable centerboards and rudders, the Seawind 1600 Passagemaker is safe even on sandy shoals. The minimum draft (with raised centerboards and rudders) is only 54 cm – or 2 feet 1 inch. This means that the Seawind 1600 Passagemaker can enter protected anchorages and waterways that are inaccessible to almost all other cruise ships on the market today.

SHALLOW DRAFT

PINPOINT ACCURACY AND SHALLOW DRAFT

The captive centerboards, which do not protrude through the deck, reduce the maintenance effort and ensure a clean deck, which could otherwise prove dangerous at sea. Anchoring the large foils also prevents an anchored catamaran from being rocked by the wind and swinging around its mooring. In this way, the aesthetics of Reichel Pugh’s breathtaking design are preserved. The mechanism for lifting the centerboards is connected to a special control in the cockpit, so there is no need to rush forward and cross the boat to lift the boards.
